The National Association of Senior Move Managers is a non-profit professional association dedicated to assisting older adults and families with the physical and emotional demands of later life living, including downsizing and relocating.  The only professional association of its kind in North America, NASMM requires its members to complete coursework in Senior Move Management and to adhere to a Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice overseen by the NASMM Ethics Compliance Committee.     Since 2009.
     
  • Are you fully insured for liability and workers’ compensation?  
    Yes.

    Yes.
     
  • Do you charge by the hour or by the project?  
    By the hour for most projects.
     
  • Will you provide a written contract?  
    Yes.
     
  • Can you provide references?  
    Yes.
     
  • Can you assist with the selection of a realtor?
    Yes.
     
  • Can you assist in the selection of a senior community?
    We partner with some great people who specialize in providing that service for free!
     
  • Do you offer customized floor plans?  
    Yes.  We provide simple floor planning tools and work with the person(s) moving to help them create the floor plan they like most.
     
  • Do you provide organizing, sorting, and downsizing services?  
    Yes.
     
  • Do you arrange for the profitable disposal of unwanted items through auction, estate sale, buyout, consignment, donation, or a combination?  
    Yes.

     
  • Will you help prepare the home for sale by decluttering and staging?  
    Yes.
     
  • Do you interview, schedule, and oversee movers?  
    Yes.
     
  • How is the billing arranged for the movers?  
    Separately.  The movers will bill you directly.

     
  • Do you pack, or do you hire a moving company to do the packing?  
    We partner with licensed movers to transport items to the new residents. We also highly recommend that all breakables be professionally packed by our moving partners.
     
  • Do you completely unpack and set up the new home?  
    Yes.  Every room, every closet, every drawer. We decorate, hang paintings, and set up electronics. When you walk in, you’re home.
